fitnaturally muesli

A lot of shop-bought mueslis have added sugar, and there are a lot of ‘designer mueslis’ out there, costing a small fortune. Making your own is dead easy and you know exactly what’s gone into it. Plus it’s wads cheaper than the fashion ones!
Serves: about 10 • Prep: 5 mins • Easy 
  • 200g porridge oats – you can mix regular, jumbo and fine oats
  • 150g of dried fruit. Use unsulphured dried fruit such as the Crazy Jack brand. Try apricots and dates or raisins.
  • 150g of mixed nuts. Could be brazil nuts, hazelnuts, macadamia, almonds, walnuts.
  • 4-5 tablespoons of mixed seeds, including pumpkin seeds
  • optional: 100g of barley flakes, 100g Quinoa flakes, 150g Linwoods milled flaxseed, almonds, brazil nuts, walnuts and Q10
Mix it all together and store in an airtight container away from sunlight.

Serve with whole milk or natural yoghurt.

Add fruit such as banana or berries.
Portion size
Males: 80-100g, with sliced banana and whole milk
Females: 50-70g, with sliced banana and whole milk

Oats are particularly high in manganese which is great for healthy bone formation, healthy skin and helping to control blood sugar. Oats are a wholegrain, that means the good stuff hasn’t been removed. Wholegrains are an important source of B vitamins and fibre. A happy gut is at the heart of good health!
