Monty's dog biscuits

Dogs should eat healthy stuff too, and making your own dog biscuits gives you peace of mind because you know they don't contain any nasties. My mate Helen made a batch of these for my dogs as a Christmas present and they were shhnuffling the wrapping like billio :) They absolutely loved them, as does her beautiful spaniel Monty, who they're named after.

Makes: 12 biscuits • Prep time: 10 mins • Cook time: 30 mins • Easy
  • 350g wholemeal flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 free range organic egg
  • 1 stock cube (palm oil free ovvs, cos of gorillas)
  • 100ml of hot water
Pre-heat the oven to 200 deg

Dissolve the stock cube in the hot water then add all the other ingredients and mix, then knead for a few minutes until a dough forms.

Roll the dough out to 15mm thick and cut into shapes or slices as you like. My dog Lottie would like bird shapes and Scout would like cheese shapes.

Arrange the biscuits on a baking tray lined with parchment and bake for 20-25 minutes.

You could also add a few oats!

I like dogs. You always know what a dog is thinking. It has four moods. Happy, sad, cross and concentrating.
