Latte coffee ice cubes

Iced latte is sublime on a hot day. I don't know about you but it's lots about the milk for me, so these coffee ice cubes are perfect. You can chink as many or few as you like into a glass of ice cold creamy milk and just let them quietly infuse their ultra cool coffee'ness.

It's essential to use whole milk here for the full experience and of course you can sweeten the coffee if you want!
Serves: 2-3 • Prep time: 10 mins • Freeze: 5 hrs • Easy
  • very good quality ground coffee
  • whole milk
  • water
  • sugar to sweeten, if you wish
Put 5 scoops of coffee into a large cafetiere and pour over 1L of boiling water. Stir and leave for a few minutes, then spoon off any sediment that's floating on top.

Smoothly plunge the plunger, then leave the coffee to cool; you can do this a few hours in advance and leave it in the fridge.

When the coffee's cool pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze.

To serve, fill a chilled glass with cold creamy milk and add as many cubes as you desire. If you want to sweeten it just add a bit of fine brown sugar.
