Porridge with warm berries

This feels so indulgent, creamy and filling with a beautiful hit of sharp berries. It’s one of the best porridge recipes ever. I made this after going blackberrying one early autumn day and it tasted all the better for it!
Serves: 1 • Prep time: 5 mins • Cook time: 5 mins • Easy
  • 40-50g of porridge oats
  • about 250-300ml of whole milk, or enough to get the right creamy texture, can add as you go
  • mild clear or Greek honey
  • large handful of frozen or fresh berries
  • double cream
Heat the berries and some honey in a heavy bottomed pan, it’ll be a large squeeze of honey, heat until the berries soften slightly but retain some shape.

Mean time, add the milk oats and another squeeze of honey to a heavy saucepan, heat and stir until you get a good creamy porridge consistency, adding more milk if necessary.

It’ll take just a few minutes. Serve the porridge topped with berries and a swirl of cream.
